Overview

San Andres Grocery and Bakery, nestled on Main Street in Woodstock, Georgia, stands as a genuine gem for anyone craving authentic Salvadoran flavors. This spot blends the charm of a local grocery with the warmth of a family-run eatery, creating a unique experience reminiscent of traditional Latin American home cooking.

The menu highlights showcase the rich culinary heritage of El Salvador, with offerings such as Costillas Con Arroz Y Frijoles Con Yuca, hearty Pupusas, and flavorful Pollo Frito Con Arroz. The Carne Guisada Arroz Y Ensalada de Coditos combines tender stewed beef with rice and a flavorful elbow macaroni salad, offering a comforting balance of textures and tastes. The fried chicken dishes, paired with either crispy fries or fried plantains, celebrate homestyle cooking that satisfies both the palate and the soul.

San Andres caters to a diverse audience—from those looking for a quick, authentic meal to shoppers seeking pantry staples that evoke the flavors of Latin America. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, more akin to a local market than a formal restaurant, which adds to its appeal. Seating is limited, reinforcing its draw as a place to pick up food for takeout or to grab fresh bakery items alongside grocery essentials.

Customer experiences reflect the authenticity and friendliness pervasive in San Andres. Patrons appreciate not only the authenticity of the dishes—particularly the pupusas stuffed with chicharrones and the freshly made tamales—but also the warm, familiar service that makes every visit feel personal. The staff’s down-to-earth charm, coupled with the vibrant aroma of smoked meats and fresh baked goods, creates a welcoming environment that beckons locals and visitors alike.

Located at 9740 Main St, this establishment thrives as a community hub for lovers of Salvadoran and Latino cuisine. Whether stopping by after church or during a casual weekday, guests find thoughtful portions that resonate with tradition and genuine care. The food reflects a balance of rich spices, fresh ingredients, and time-honored recipes, making San Andres Grocery and Bakery much more than just a place to eat—it’s a taste of home.

Papusas excellent. Tamales excellent. Definitely go again. Other reviews said food was expensive. I disagree . 1 papusa, 2 tamales 2 rice 2 beans 2 Harritos and 2 bottles sauce from store for less than $30. Seems fair.

Awesome hole in the wall if you like real Mexican food. The place was very crowded after church on Sunday most people were getting their orders Togo. We though about sitting but chairs and tables were limited as it was more of a little grocery store than restaurant. The food was served by plate with fresh tamales out front to tempt you in the way in...not that the guy out front smoking meat and corn isn't enough to make you hungry. Then when you get inside you see a small cafeteria like shelf indicative of mom and pops like this. Real chickens not huge steroid chicken but what a redneck might call yardbird or a hippie natural free range. Real great food

Have you ever felt like heading to a actually Hispanic grocery store? Lol. Friendly staff. They most speak Spanish, but they are friendly. Staff is helpful and willing to help. Meals are hot made in store. Foods good. Be warn, though. It's a Hispanic store. So, no vegan or nothing really heart healthy.
